Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 24, 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern use of the Light Naija website and electricity vending services. By using a live service, a customer agrees to the applicable Terms. The current demonstration website does not process payments or generate electricity tokens.
1. Service description
Light Naija is intended to help customers purchase electricity for supported distribution companies. Availability depends on provider coverage, accurate meter information, system availability and successful confirmation from the vending provider.
2. Customer responsibilities
Customers must choose the correct distribution company and meter type, enter an accurate meter number, review the amount and details before paying, and use a payment method they are authorised to use.
3. Payments and transaction confirmation
A payment request is not complete until the payment provider and vending system confirm the relevant transaction. Display the final amount, any applicable fees, transaction reference and expected delivery method clearly before payment. Never ask customers to send payment credentials by email or chat.
4. Token delivery and delays
Token delivery may depend on payment confirmation, the distribution company, vending provider and network availability. Provide a transaction status page and a support process for delayed, pending or failed transactions.
5. Errors, reversals and refunds
Publish a clear process for duplicate payments, failed vending, incorrect meter details, delayed reversals and refund eligibility. Explain expected review timelines and any restrictions that lawfully apply. Do not promise that every completed electricity purchase can be reversed.
6. Availability and maintenance
We will aim to keep the service available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation. Features may be updated, suspended or unavailable for maintenance or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
7. Acceptable use and fraud prevention
Users must not misuse the service, interfere with its security, submit fraudulent transactions or attempt unauthorised access. We may investigate suspicious activity and take lawful steps to protect customers and the platform.
8. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Have a qualified adviser draft appropriate limitations and explain how responsibility is shared with payment and vending providers.
9. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the published Privacy Policy. Review that policy before using the live service.
10. Changes and governing law
State how changes to these Terms will be communicated and identify the governing law and dispute-resolution process after obtaining appropriate legal advice for your business.
